Activision recently announced development of a new video game, Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark, to complement the next transformer movie Transformers: Age of Extinction.
Video game developers and publishers in the past produced new video games based on popular movies players found less than inspiring. Hopefully, this time they do a better job of making this video game entertaining and fun, while still keeping the characters and content consistent with the original movies.
“TRANSFORMERS: RISE OF THE DARK SPARK is an arc between the Cybertron and Earth based worlds of this popular franchise,” remarked Mark Blecher, SVP Digital Gaming & Corporate Development at Hasbro, Inc. “This year marks 30 incredible years of TRANSFORMERS. This game tells another chapter in the TRANSFORMERS story that all fans will love.”
Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark is a third-person action adventure video game set in the Cybertron universe. Players select from over 40 different characters, so you can play the transformer or decepticon character you want to.
The developers indicate players can decide to play as an Autobot or Decepticon while playing the single player campaign. The new video game features fast action and combat, combined with dynamic vehicles battling on huge battlefields.
This new video game is for the Xbox One and Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and 4, the Nintendo Wii, 3DS, and Windows PC systems.
Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark will arrive sometime during June, 2014. I will update you when more information becomes available.
